 LAST Art Gallery

 When artist and founder Gail Delger opened LAST Art Gallery, it was created with the mission to advocate for creativity by showcasing talented area artists of all mediums and styles.  As a small, colorful gallery tucked into West Louisiana Street, LAST gallery features paintings, pottery and sculpture from local artists such as Bev Boren, Kim Carothers and Tim Delger.  The traditional to eclectic can be found at this gallery.  The gallery even has repurposed and recycled items.

Art House of McKinney

The Art House of McKinney a creative space through and through.  Designated as an arts studio that also facilitates artist-led classes in various artistic media, the space accommodates all kinds of artists.  Past artists have specialized in painting, pottery throwing, print making and more. The Art House of McKinney was opened in 2105 by artist Sona Knox and is also the primary host for the McKinney Studio Art Tour (MAST), held in November. The space also caters to art camps for children and is more usually that not bustling with visitors and classes for students of all ages.

 Orisons Art & Framing

 Since 1997 Orisons has created a name for itself in the McKinney art community. They primarily focus on custom framing work (provided for paintings, photos, shadowboxes, and jerseys, among others), but more so, provide quality fine art reproduction, through photo to canvas services and Giclee process and photo restoration. They have monthly art openings featuring the work of top artists from Dallas, Taos and other art centers.


The Martin Place (formerly known as Imaging on the Square)

 This photography, custom framing and custom printing business provides full service to all photography, framing and printing needs.  They also work in art reproduction to provide quality replicated art for their customers.  The small facility also features a quaint gallery of rotating local art.  Formerly at 109 S. Tennessee Street square, they are now housed in 1799 N. Graves Street and have a classroom available for workshop booking.


Create Your Own Art

In recent years the popularity of paint-your-own art centers have become popular aiming at those who have an interest in art, but want it presented in a fun and easy to follow format. From private classes to social drink-ups, McKinney has its own selection.


Painting with a Twist

The popular social painting experience has a home in McKinney as a BYOB (bring your own beverage) studio where friends can gather to paint a similar image, easily presented step by step by the art class facilitator.  The teachers walk painters through the painting project with patience, giving visitors the chance to mingle while they paint and sip.


Walls of Clay

Walls of Clay has its own in-house gallery featuring ceramic bisque pieces, from figurines to vases, plates and cups.  But that’s not all—by appointment only, they allow visitors to pick their own piece of ceramic-ware, then paint, stencil, sponge or stamping it for decoration.  Then, they’ll glaze it by hand and fire it, all on the spot in the art space.  They also offer services for private events and corporate functions.


Wild Brush Studio

Wild Brush Studio is a unique place to create artwork you know and love.  Located at the square in McKinney’s downtown area, the three artist/owners who run the studio let visitors book appointments to host a party or individual workshop, letting them create their own take-home painting.  Owners provide all of the materials for the artistic process, though visitors can provide their own image for inspiration.  They will even book at-home appointments, for those who’d like to book a take-home paint party at their house.
